People have turned to medical marijuana for a way to treat pain. And thus making them not dependent on drugs that are highly addictive from hospitals and other sources. Many addictions start from a hospital visit getting that prescription, being dependent on that drug. Thus medical marijuana coming into the picture. Cannabis is alot less risky than opiates and no mortality rate. There is a substantial decrease is opiate abuse in states that have these dispensaries of medical marijuana in effect
